Live United on Aug. 22
LIVE UNITED: STUFF THE BUS AT THE CHATTANOOGA MARKET ON AUG. 22 Bring the kids for a day of family fun while you discover how United Way is advancing the common good in our community. United Way of Greater Chattanooga and the Chattanooga Market are teaming up again this year to bring you the second annual LIVE UNITED DAY at the First Tennessee Pavilion on Sunday, August 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone in the community is invited to come see how they each can Live United. On this special day at the Market, different United Way partner agencies will provide games, arts, crafts and healthy activities for children and their families to enjoy. This year, there is an added twist - United Way will collect school supplies for its Stuff the Bus drive. Many local organizations, such as Publix, Porter’s Steak House, First Horizon, Kids Park and UBS Financial Services are just a few of the companies that will be dropping off supplies to stuff in the bus at the market. United Way asks that visitors to the market please help out by bringing a few school supplies to add to the collection. More than 20 agencies will have booths set up throughout the Market with children's games and activities. While they’re enjoying a leisurely afternoon, parents can also sign their toddlers up for free books and get a free DVD to take home. A few of the featured activities at the Market on August 22 will be face painting, marshmallow target practice, arts and crafts, kid friendly tattoos, Minute to Win It, a coloring table, sculpture making and more – all at no charge. United Way will give away free Frisbees to all children who visit their booth.
As always, admission to the Market is free and children’s activities provided by United Way and its partner agencies are at no extra charge. United Way of Greater Chattanooga funds local programs that prevent problems before they occur, creates opportunities for people to care for themselves and each other, and supports the most vulnerable in our community – making our community the best at helping people achieve their potential. Thanks to an endowment fund that covers all overhead and administrative expenses, all contributions (100 percent) go directly to services that help individuals and families in greater Chattanooga, north Georgia and northeast Alabama.
